The YSRCP, led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, has condemned the arrests of his leaders in connection with the liquor scam and described him as illegal, arbitrary and inspired by politics. The party alleged that the arrests of MP PV Midhun Reddy, former MLA Chevredi Bhaskar Reddy, retired IAS officer K Dhananjay Reddy, Special Affairs Officer Krishna Mohan Reddy and others under an FIR of 2024 were part of the TDP -led government in Andhra Pradesh under an FIR. YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy said that these arrests are not based on facts or evidence, but are clearly part of the vengeance political agenda run by the TDP -led government to intimidate the opposition and to eliminate the ground power of our party.

While rejecting any relationship between the arrested people and the liquor policy of the state, Subba Reddy questioned, what was the role of these leaders in the liquor policy or excise policy? No role. Nevertheless, he is being harassed under a well-planned conspiracy. This is completely political vengeance. The YSRCP further claimed that the liquor scam case was fabricated and forced on the basis of forced statements, in which there were no concrete evidence connecting their leaders with any wrongdoing, such as documents or financial transactions. A former IT advisor, CADIDE Rajasekhar Reddy, was allegedly signed by an indispensable statement, which he later withdrew to a magistrate.

Subba Reddy said that this is not an investigation; It is a screenplay – written by TDP and carried out by misuse of power. This is a politics of revenge. Defending its records from 2019 to 2024, YSRCP emphasized a responsible and transparent liquor policy. According to the party, the number of liquor shops was reduced from 4,380 to 2,934, while 43,000 illegal belt shops and 4,380 permit rooms were closed. Improvements such as compulsory electronic payments and streamlining taxes were implemented to curb cash based corruption.
