The water level of many major rivers of the state, including Ganga, Yamuna and Sharda, remains above the danger mark due to widespread rainfall in the water fill area located in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Due to floods of swollen rivers, life has been disturbed in hundreds of villages of many districts of the state. A boy died due to drowning in flood waters in Ballia. According to Meteorological Department officials, the monsoon is active in the state and during the next one week, the process of rain in the entire state may continue more or less.

According to the Central Water Commission report, the Ganges River is flowing above the danger mark in Kachla Bridge (Badaun), Ghazipur, Chhatnag and Phaphamau (Prayagraj), Ballia, Mirzapur and Varanasi on Wednesday. Similarly, the Ghaghra river is flowing above the danger mark in Ayodhya and Elgin Bridge (Barabanki). According to the report, the Yamuna river is flowing above the danger mark in Naini (Prayagraj). At the same time, the water level of Rapti river in Bhinaga (Shravasti) and Rapti Barrage (Shravasti) is still above the red mark. Sharda Canal is flowing above the danger mark in Paliakalan (Lakhimpur Kheri), but now its water level is decreasing. Floods of rivers have affected life in many districts of the state.

According to the report received from Prayagraj, the water level of Ganga and Yamuna has started below Wednesday after reaching above the danger mark due to heavy rains for the last several days, but 107 wards and locals of Sadar tehsil are still surrounded by flood waters. Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Vinita Singh said that people are feeling relieved due to the water level of the rivers coming down, but 107 wards and mohallas under Sadar tehsil are affected by the floods, including Rajapur, Bailey Kachar, Chandpur Salori, Govindpur, Chhota Bagha and Bada Bagha. The number of flood affected villages is continuously increasing due to the increase in the water level of Ganga and Saryu river in Ballia district.

According to the report received from Ballia, 11 -year -old boy Yuvraj Gupta died due to drowning while bathing in flood waters in the west tola Haldi village of Haldi police station area today. His body has been taken out with the help of divers and police and sent for post -mortem. According to the data provided by the in -charge of the district administration’s flood control room, the water level of the Ganges river was 59 meters 86 cm at eight in the morning, which is two meters 25 cm more than the danger mark. The Saryu River is flowing 14 cm above the danger mark in Turtipar. According to the district administration, Ballia Sadar and Bairia Tehsils of Ballia district are mainly affected by floods.

A total of 17 revenue villages of Bairia tehsil are affected by a population of about 25 thousand. At the same time, 58 revenue villages of Ballia Sadar Tehsil area have been affected. Also, a total of five wards have also been affected in the Ballia municipality area. According to the report received from Varanasi, the water level of the Ganges is decreasing, but a total of 28 wards are affected by its floods. According to officials, on Wednesday, Chief Minister Satyendra Kumar, along with Mayor Ashok Tiwari, inspected the works being done for flood relief by visiting the affected areas of Harishchandra Ghat, Harshad Ghat, front, ghat, knowledge flow etc. from the motor boat.

Officials said that the Mayor and the District Magistrate reached the Kashi Entrigated Command and Control Center and took stock of the flood affected area from there and directed the people of the control room to be completely cautious and keep an eye on the flood affected area for 24 hours. In the report received from Kaushambi, due to continuous rains for the last few days, the water level of Ganga and Yamuna has been flooded with water to reach some villages. The district administration has arranged boats for the movement of villagers.

Deputy District Magistrate (Chail) Akash Singh said that the district administration has arranged for the movement of villagers due to flooding in the roads of Kataiya and Badhari villages of Chail tehsil. According to him, ‘anti -venom injection’ and first aid material have been provided at flood posts. However, the flood affected people, instead of going to the flood posts, are living in the house of nearby villagers. Similarly, the administration has also arranged a boat here due to flood water of Yamuna river via Pabhosa, Chak Pinha, Bhawanasuri, Malipur and Singhwal villages of Manjhanpur tehsil area.
