Despite completing their sentences, the filled proformas under the signature campaign started by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for the release of Sikhs detained in different jails of the country will be handed over to the Governor of Punjab Mr. Banwari Lal Purohit on 18 May 2023.

In order to hand over the proforma to the Governor of Punjab, the President of the Shiromani Committee, under the leadership of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Senior Vice President S. Baldev Singh Qaimpur, Jr. Vice President Avtar Singh Riya, General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal and Secretary S. Pratap Singh will go. Earlier this program was held on April 27, but the patron of Shiromani Akali Dal and former Chief Minister of Punjab. It was postponed due to the death of Parkash Singh Badal.

Secretary of the Shiromani Committee Pratap Singh told about this that a signature campaign was started for the release of Bandi Singhs from 1 December 2022, which continued till 14 April 2023. Under this campaign, more than 25 lakh people have filled proformas, which will be handed over to Governor Punjab on 18 May at 11:00 am in the name of the President. Before this, on May 18 at 6:30 in the morning, a prayer ceremony will be held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, in which the Singh Sahibs and members of the Shiromani Committee will participate.
