The Prime Minister of Bhutan thanked India for giving a chance to build a temple in Rajgir

Bhutan’s Prime Minister Shering Tobge said on Wednesday that Nalanda spirit generated from the ancient center of education in Bihar should be pursued and we will play our role to propagate and nurture this feeling in Bhutan.

In his address at Nalanda University in Bihar, Tobge thanked the Government of India for spreading Nalanda spirit and under this spirit, Bhutan was given an opportunity to build a temple in Rajgir.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that Bhutan Prime Minister Shering Tobge and Bhutan chief Math chief Trulku Jigme Choedra are on a visit to India for the inauguration ceremony of the Royal Bhutan Buddhist Temple in Rajgir, Bihar on September 4.

The ministry said that the land for the temple has been provided by the Bihar government. The new Nalanda University located in Rajgir in Nalanda district of Bihar was established by the Government of India with the aim of reviving the ancient pride of Nalanda as an international institution.

Addressing the gathering present at an event, Tobe said, “I want to thank the Government of India for continuing the tradition of Nalanda Mahavir and spreading the spirit of Nalanda.” I also thank Bhutan for giving an opportunity to build a temple in Rajgir.
