New Parliament House Inauguration: The inauguration of the new Parliament building is near. The new parliament building in Delhi’s Lutyen’s Center will be inaugurated on May 28. On Thursday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met PM Modi and invited him to inaugurate the new Parliament building.
Let us tell you that the new Parliament Building has been constructed as part of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project. The new parliament building is four storeyed. This building will have seating arrangements for 1224 parliamentarians. Currently, PM Modi will be on a foreign tour from Friday to May 24. They will first visit Japan, then Papua New Guinea and Australia.
Earlier, in the last week of March, Prime Minister Modi suddenly arrived at the new Parliament House. Prime Minister Modi spent over an hour in the campus along with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and inspected various works. The Prime Minister visited both the Houses of Parliament and interacted with the workers and officials engaged in the construction.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone in 2020
PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament building in 2020. In September 2021, he visited the site of the new campus and interacted with the workers there. While laying the foundation stone, Modi said that the need for a new Parliament building had been felt for years. 21st century India needs a new Parliament complex. The old building served the needs of the country, the new parliament building will meet the aspirations of the country.
The new parliament building is 64,500 square meters
The new Parliament Building complex is spread over 64,500 square meters and is a part of the Rs 20,000 crore Central Vista project. The cost of the Parliament Building project is said to be Rs 971 crore. The building is earthquake resistant and will house 2,000 direct and 9,000 indirect workers.
