Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Thursday targeted his colleague JDU -led Bihar government over the growing crime in the state and said that the morale of criminals is touching the sky. His response came this morning after being shot dead by five unidentified assailants of a prisoner who came out on parole for treatment at a private hospital in Patna. Union Food Processing Industry Minister and NDA’s associate Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Paswan questioned the functioning of the police and administration, saying it is beyond comprehension.

Chirag Paswan said on X that law and order in Bihar has become a matter of serious concern today. Murders are happening every day, the morale of criminals is on the sky. Police – The working style of the administration is beyond comprehension. He said that today the incident of public firing by criminals entering inside Paras Hospital located in the residential area of Patna is proof that criminals are now challenging the law and administration directly. The rising criminal cases just before the Bihar assembly elections are worrisome. It is expected that the administration will soon take concrete and tough steps to bring the law and order back on track.
Paswan’s remarks have come a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar, where he will launch several development projects worth Rs 7,200 crore and address a rally. The LJP (R) chief said that the rising crimes a few months before the Bihar assembly elections to be held later this year are worrisome and urged the administration to take steps to improve law and order. He said, “The growing criminal incidents just before the Bihar assembly elections are worrisome. Hopefully the administration will soon take concrete and strict steps to bring the law and order back on track.”

According to police, the firing took place at Paras Hospital located in Raja Bazar area of the city. The victim, who has been identified as Chandan Mishra, is accused in a murder case in Buxar district and was released from Beur Jail on medical parole and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
