The major declaration of the Mann government between festivals will receive interest free advances

The Punjab Government has made a special decision for Group D employees while viewing the festive season. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said each employee would get interest free advance of Rs. 10,000. This means that money will be distributed already and no interest on payment. This decision would benefit about 35,894 employees directly.

The Finance Minister said that in 2024-25, there were 36,065 group D employees in the state. Of these, 13,375 employees (about 37 per cent) had already taken advanced, which results in 13.37 crore.

The Finance Minister said that if all eligible workers take advance this year, the cost could reach ₹ 35.89 crore. The government has allotted a budget of Rs. 20 crore for this purpose and additional funds will be provided if needed.

In view of Diwali (October 20) This money will be distributed to employees from October 17. This amount will be paid in five equal monthly installments, which will start from the salary of November 2025.
