A 3-member SIT is investigating
The SC Commission had directed the Punjab government and the DGP to investigate the alleged video of the minister after which the SIT was formed in the matter. It was headed by DIG Narendra Bhargava and the SSP of Gurdaspur and Pathankot were included in the team. Although the opposition has repeatedly raised questions about the investigation, they have alleged that the police are harassing those who present witnesses. When Sukhpal Singh Khaira submitted the video to the Governor, he got the video forensically examined. After the video was corrected, the victim himself came forward and said that the video is 10 years old, but he was threatened. He had also asked for protection stating that his life was in danger.
