DSP Varinder Singh Khosa said that Sumit Kumar was caught by the police of the police station Dakha on the basis of secret information. He is a resident of Mohalla Kot Mangal Singh of Ludhiana. The vicious accused bank stood outside the ATM and targeted the elderly and those who do not know running ATMs.
ATM card changed after seeing password First the accused would see the password with great cleverness to the people who came to withdraw money in the ATM, then changed the ATM card in the name of helping them. After this, he would immediately go to another ATM and withdraw money from their bank accounts. The victim would know when the message of withdrawing money from the bank would come on his mobile.
The police from the accused HDFC Bank ATM card 13, PNB 15, SBI’s 13, 8 of Axis Bank, 3 of UCO Bank, 2 of ICICI Bank, 3 of Bank of Baroda, 3 of Bank of India, 3 of Bank of India, 3 of Union Bank, 2 of IDBI Bank, 2 of IDBI Bank, 3 of Canara Bank. Small Finance Bank 2, Punjab Gramin Bank 1, J.&K 2, Cooperative Bank 1, Capital Small Finance Bank 1, Punjab and Sindh Bank 2 and 1 ATM card of Indian Bank have been recovered.
Was cheated for 10 years- DSP The police is now deeply interrogating the accused as to how many people he cheated and someone else was involved with him. According to the DSP, the accused has been doing cheating business for the last 10 years. There are 5 cases registered against him in different cities of Punjab.
The first case was registered in Ludhiana in 2015. After this, a case was registered in Fatehgarh Sahib and Dhuri in 2022, police station in 2023 and Samrala Khanna in 2024. This is the sixth case. The police is investigating the entire network of the accused.
The DSP said that if someone does not know how to run ATMs. So he should take someone from his family with him or take the help of a bank worker. Do not take help of a person under any circumstances. Do not put a password in front of anyone inside the ATM. If someone comes inside the ATM, then ask the person to stand outside till the money is withdrawn. Withdraw money alone.
