The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is constantly striving for the welfare of every section of the state. To fulfill this purpose, various labor welfare schemes are being run by the Punjab government for the social and economic progress of the construction workers.

Giving more information in this regard, Minister of Labour, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Investment Promotion and Hospitality Anmol Gagan Mann said that construction workers like masons, floor scrubbers, glass workers, carpenters, plumbers, welders, electricians, painters, POP workers, road construction workers, building construction workers etc. workers who are registered with the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board can become beneficiaries of labor welfare schemes of the state government.

He said that the labor welfare schemes of Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board include Wazifa Scheme, Shagan Scheme, Exgratia Scheme, Spectacles, Dental and Hearing Aids and other schemes.

The minister said that any construction worker who has worked as a construction worker for more than 90 days in the last 12 months and whose age is between 18-60 years can become a beneficiary. He said that the construction worker can go to the nearest service center and get his registration done.

Apart from this, the Minister further informed that a mobile app “Punjab Kirti Sashik” has already been launched with the aim of providing greater convenience to the construction workers. He said that with this mobile app, the construction worker does not even need to go to the facility center, rather he can get his registration done using his mobile phone and avail the labor welfare schemes of the state government.
