The boat drowned near Bali in Indonesia; Four people died, 38 others missing

Four people died and 38 other people are missing after a boat drowned near Risort Island Bali in Indonesia. Surabaya Search and Rescue Agency reported that rescuers rescued 23 other people in the boat.

The National Search and Rescue Agency said in a statement that ‘KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya’ drowned about half an hour after leaving from Kotapang port of East Java late on Wednesday night.

The boat was traveling 50 km and going to Gilimanuk port of Bali. He said that the boat had 53 passengers, 12 members of the crew and 22 vehicles including 14 trucks.

Banuwangi police chief Rama Samatama Putra said that many of the rescued people fainted due to the water flowing for hours. Nine boats have been deployed to search for missing people.
