As soon as the schedule of T20 Asia Cup 2025 was announced, BCCI started criticizing all around. After which it was said that the Indian cricket team should withdraw from the match against Pakistan on 14 September. Relations between India and Pakistan are not good. Indians want that when Pakistan does not end terrorism from India, no sports or any relationship with Pakistan should be kept.
Meanwhile, the statement of the Sports Ministry has come out. The Sports Ministry has made it clear that there will be no bilateral sports matches between India and Pakistan but the Indian team will not be stopped from playing in the Asia Cup.
In fact, on Thursday, the Ministry of Sports has released a new policy regarding India’s international sports relations, especially on relations with Pakistan. According to sources, this policy has become effective immediately. According to PTI, the policy of the Sports Ministry states that India’s view in sports events related to Pakistan reflects the same business policy that has been adopted in India’s relations with that country. As far as bilateral sports events between the two countries are concerned, the Indian team will not participate in the matches in Pakistan. Pakistan teams will also not be able to allow bilateral matches in India.
At the same time, a source of the ministry said that, we will not stop the Indian cricket team from playing in the Asia Cup, because it is a multi -regional competition. He further said that Pakistan will not be allowed to play on Indian earth for bilateral bilateral matches. But their participation in multilateral events will not stop as we will follow the Olympic charter. This policy keeps a clear distance in India-Pakistan sports relations while also gives a message to continue participation in international sports.
