The Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police has sent former SSP and AIG Rashpal Singh on judicial remand today. Jalandhar STF also interrogated him for three days. Citing health reasons, Rashpal Singh appeared today through video conferencing.
Amarinder Pal Singh, who claimed to be a victim in this case, told the media that a case was registered against him in 2019 on the charges of fake drugs. He was arrested by the Amritsar court. The matter was investigated at a high level and a case was registered against Inspector Praveen Kumar earlier. According to him, Rashpal Singh was nominated in this case a year and a half ago, but he was arrested recently.
Amarinder Pal Singh claimed that retired AIG Rashpal Singh is being given VIP treatment. He was healthy when he was arrested, but the next day he complained of chest pain and low blood pressure. He said that such strictness is meted out to common people, but officials get leniency. He said that he has been fighting for justice since 2019 and will continue to fight.
According to the information received, former AIG Rashpal Singh was arrested in a case in 2019 in which the police arrested Amarinder Pal Singh of Gurdaspur and Dalbir Singh of Saidpur village of Amritsar for possession of 200 grams of heroin. Both the victims had to spend a long time in jail for this.

However, after being granted bail, both the victims demanded a probe into the case. In 2020, the investigation into the case was handed over to the Jalandhar Special Task Force (STF). The investigation into the case was initially initiated by Jalandhar Special Task Force (STF) AIG Surinder Kumar.
The case is still under investigation. Before Rashpal Singh’s arrest, four police officers, including retired inspector Praveen Kumar, who filed the FIR, have already been arrested in the case.
