The heat in Punjab has started showing its intense form. On 23 April, Bathinda recorded a maximum temperature of 42.8 degrees Celsius, the highest in the entire state. According to the Meteorological Department Chandigarh, the average temperature in Punjab has increased by 0.5 degrees and

Apart from Bathinda, 40.8 in Ferozepur, 38.8 in Amritsar and 39 in Ludhiana, 39.7 in Patiala, 38.8 in Chandigarh and 36.9 degrees Celsius in Mohali.
All these figures are till 5:30 pm on Wednesday evening. No alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for today. But after 24 hours, the effect of heat will also be seen from tomorrow.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heat stroke in many districts for the next three days:
- April 25: Yellow alert has been issued for Ferozepur, Fazilka, Bathinda, Mansa and Muktsar districts.
- April 26: In the central and southern parts of the state, such as Barnala, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot and Muktsar districts will show its dislike. Yellow alert has been issued here.
- April 27: The scope of warning will increase further, which will now include Ludhiana, Sangrur and Bathinda besides Patiala and Barnala.
