Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy in Telangana was arrested by the Warangal police in a case of alleged forcibly recovery in the early hours of Saturday, but in the evening he was released on bail by the court. Police gave this information.
Police sources said Reddy, MLA from Huzurabad, was arrested and taken to Warangal at Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport here.
The opposition BRS claimed that the court rejected the request of Kaushik Reddy’s remand. Police said Kaushik Reddy is accused of threatening a mine owner and taking Rs 25 lakh from him and demanding Rs 50 lakh more. A case has been registered on the basis of this allegation.
Former BRS MP and lawyer B Vinod Kumar told reporters that a court in Warangal dismissed the remand of Kaushik Reddy and granted him bail on personal bond.
Vinod Kumar said that the lawyers representing the MLA argued in the court that the sections of the law against him were not justified. However, the police officer said that a section of the law was rejected and Kaushik Reddy got bail for submitting two personal bonds.
BRS Executive Chairman K.K. T. Rama Rao alleged in a release that false cases were being registered against Kaushik Reddy as he Revanth Reddy has questioned the “illegal activities” and corruption and irregularities of ministers and ruling Congress leaders. Rama Rao demanded unconditional release of the MLA.
