Tejashwi’s attack on Nitish-Modi government: Why did Bihar become a stronghold of unemployment-fray in 20 years?

As soon as the Bihar assembly elections approached, former Deputy Minister of the state and former RJD MLA Tejashwi Yadav claimed on Monday that the NDA government has made Bihar the center of unemployment, migration and poverty. In a post on X, Tejashwi Yadav said that despite the Nitish-Modi government being in power for 20 years in Bihar and 11 years at the center, the NDA government has made Bihar the main center of unemployment, migration and poverty. This is not my claim, but the reports of the NITI Aayog of the Government of India have been saying this from year to year. He further said that in the last 20 years, Bihar’s per capita income has been less than the world’s poorest African countries, Uganda and Rwanda.

The son of Rashtriya Janata Dal President Lalu Prasad Yadav, through his post, asked Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, why is Bihar the main center of unemployment? And how much migration has occurred from Bihar in the last 20 years, and why migration in Bihar is growing at an unprecedented rate? In addition, Tejashwi Yadav asked why the government did not build region-specific clusters in the state in 20 years. He also asked how many industries and factories have been closed in the state. Apart from this, he also questioned the government on the transparency of examination and recruitment processes in the last 20 years.

Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday targeted the NDA government of Bihar and said that the people of Bihar would ask if Prime Minister Narendra Modi can allegedly “win” in Bihar by “factories” in Gujarat. He also criticized the NDA government for lack of development in the state. Talking to reporters, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Crime and corruption have increased. This is the situation in Bihar. Look at the condition of education, irrigation and healthcare. Bihar is the worst in terms of per capita income and per capita investment. Bihar is at the lowest position in terms of income of farmers. There is no industry, no business.” Meanwhile, elections are scheduled in Bihar later this year, in October or November. However, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet announced the official date.
