The political dispute in Bihar deepened when RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav claimed that his name had been removed from the voter list of Bihar. He called it an attack on democracy and questioned the Election Commission. However, his allegation was immediately rejected by the Election Commission and the DM of Patna.
Tejashwi has two EPIC number?
There was a new twist in this case when two different EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card) numbers of Tejashwi came out. The Election Commission clarified that the EPIC number used by Tejashwi in the 2020 assembly elections is still recorded in the voter list. At the same time, the EPIC number shown by Tejashwi in his press conference is not in the record of the Election Commission.

BJP demands action
After this revelation, BJP and NDA leaders have launched a scathing attack on Tejashwi Yadav. BJP MP Sambit Patra said, “Tejashwi Yadav is lying, his name and EPIC number exist.” Patra also questioned how Tejashwi can have two EPIC numbers, and do they have two voter ID cards. Describing it as a heinous crime, he has demanded the Election Commission to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and register an FIR against Tejashwi.
