Patna. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday termed as “rumour” the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) claim that it came across Rs 600 crore in proceeds of crime during searches at his and close family members’ premises. Yadav, a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, is currently in Delhi with his wife. Tejashwi Yadav also said that the BJP would be embarrassed if they made public the panchnama that was signed after the raids.

Referring to the alleged hotel-in-land scam when his father Lalu Prasad was Railway Minister, Yadav said, “Remember – in 2017 also the alleged transaction of Rs 8,000 crore, mall worth thousands of crores, hundreds of properties, just a few months ago Urbancube Mall of Arabs Whiteland Company was also found in Gurugram. Now before bringing the new account of the alleged 600 crores, the BJP would have given the account of the old one to its sources.

The RJD leader said, “Instead of spreading misleading rumors here and there or planting news by quoting sources, the Panchnama (list of seizures) signed after the raid should be made public. If we make it public then what will be the respect of these poor leaders? think…”

Earlier today, the Enforcement Directorate said it has seized Rs 1 crore in “unaccounted cash” and “unearthed Rs 600 crore of proceeds of crime” after conducting raids against RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s family in a money laundering case related to the railways. ” (agency)
