India is now opposing US President Donald Trump’s attempt to regain control over Bagram airbase in Afghanistan along with Taliban, Pakistan, China and Russia. The announcement was made a few days before the Taliban Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttki’s scheduled visit to New Delhi, which will be the first historic visit for a senior Taliban diplomat.

India’s warning with Taliban from Russia’s land
The seventh meeting of Moscow format consultation on Afghanistan was held in Moscow, which was attended by special representatives and senior officials from Afghanistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and Belarus was also present as guests. The joint statement states that they described efforts by countries in Afghanistan and neighboring states to deploy their military infrastructure as unacceptable, as it does not fulfill the interests of regional peace and stability. Although Bagram was not clearly named, the message was widely seen as Trump’s demand.

Trump asked for Bagram, provoked Taliban
Trump has repeatedly called upon the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan to hand over to Bagram, with an agreement of 2020 about five years ago, clearing the way for America from Kabul. In a press conference with British Prime Minister Kir Starmer on 18 September, he said that we gave the Taliban free. We want that base back. Two days later, he warned on Truth Social, if Afghanistan does not return the airbase to make it to the United States, ie the United States, it would be bad! However, the Taliban has strongly rejected this request. Chief spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that the Afghan will not allow him to hand over his land to anyone under any circumstances.
Why does Trump Bagram want?
Bagram Airport, located about 50 km from Kabul, is the largest military airport in Afghanistan, with two concrete runways of 3 km and 3.6 km. Its strategic condition and infrastructure makes it an important stronghold for control, especially in the bumpy areas of the Afghan airs, especially in the country’s bumpy areas. Bagram played a central role in the US -led “War against Terrorism” since 2001. The Moscow format statement confirmed support for an independent, united and peaceful Afghanistan and emphasized anti-terrorism cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels.
