Japanese carmaker Suzuki Motors is planning to launch an electric car in India. According to a report published in Nikkei Asia, Suzuki Motors may launch its first electric car in India in 2025.
Suzuki sells 4 wheelers in India in partnership with Maruti. What will the new electric car look like? What will it cost? The report does not go into much detail. But it is speculated that this electric car will be the cheapest electric car. Prices can range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 11 lakh. It will also benefit from the subsidy being given by the Government of India on electric vehicles.
According to the report, this will help Suzuki Motors to move faster in electric mobility. Because Maruti Suzuki India is currently the largest car manufacturer in India, with millions of customers. Maruti Suzuki’s sales in India are mostly small, compact cars like Alto, WagonR, Baleno and Swift.
