The Assam Police has registered a case of murder against his manager Siddharth Sharma and Festival organizer Shyamakanu Mahant after the recent death of popular singer Zubin Garg in Singapore. Both were detained from Delhi on Wednesday and later brought to Assam. A local court has ordered both to be sent to 14 days police custody. According to Special Director General of Police (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta, arrests were made on the basis of initial investigation and the investigation team is interrogating both.

It is being told that the investigation is going on and I cannot share more information. We have now added Section 103 of BNS to the FIR. On Wednesday, the police announced that Sharma and Mahant have been charged with several sections of BNS, including non -perpetual assassination, criminal conspiracy and negligence to cause death due to negligence. According to media reports, Zubine Garg died of drowning while floating near an island in Singapore. This is contrary to the earlier claims that they died during scuba diving.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) shared a copy of its initial investigation and post -mortem report with the Indian High Commission after a formal request. The High Commission has confirmed the receipt of the document. A source familiar with the case said that the report clearly sinks as the cause of death. Garg, who hails from Assam, came to Singapore to participate in programs organized to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore. He also attended the India-ASEAN Tourism Year Celebration and Northeast India Festival.

Zubine’s wife Garima Saikia Garg, who is in Jorhat for the 13th day after the singer’s death, told reporters that they were now feeling relieved as both persons have been brought back to Assam. He said that everyone is curious to know what really happened in their last moments.
