The problems of former Punjab DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was arrested in a bribery case, are now seen to be increasing. After CBI’s FIR, Punjab Vigilance has registered a case of disproportionate assets under DA. Now action will also be taken by Punjab Vigilance. On the other hand, the judicial custody of the suspended DIG has ended today. He was produced in the CBI court today through video conferencing. The court has extended Bhullar’s judicial custody for 14 days.
Let us tell that the CBI has already taken Krishna on remand. Ex-DIG Bhullar will be questioned only after his interrogation. The CBI is gathering clues and evidence about the conversations between Krishna and the former DIG as well as their links with other businessmen and police officials.
The CBI is probing the bribery case, now the scope of their investigation has expanded to investigate the land-property held by the former DIG since 2017. According to the CBI investigation, Bhullar’s salary income from August 1 to October 17 was 4.74 lakh.
The CBI found that Bhullar’s annual income from all known sources was Rs 45.95 lakh as per his income tax returns for the financial year 2024-25. However, the confiscated properties and properties belonging to his family were worth several crores of rupees.

The CBI said Bhullar amassed wealth in excess of his known sources of income in connivance with unknown persons and illegally enriched himself during his tenure. He also failed to give any satisfactory explanation for the confiscated properties.
