Supreme Court will resume the hearing on Imran Khan’s bail plea on August 12

Pakistan’s Supreme Court will start a hearing again on the appeals filed against former Prime Minister Imran Khan in jail by former Prime Minister Imran Khan in cases related to the violence of May 9.

The media reported about this on Sunday. According to the news of ‘Don’ newspaper, according to various appeals filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) head, the Lahore High Court (LHC) refused to grant him after arrest in eight cases related to violence after the arrest of Khan from Islamabad High Court premises on May 9, 2023.

The LHC on May 9 dismissed his bail, citing Khan’s alleged role in planning attacks on military establishments in fear of his arrest.

The Supreme Court postponed the hearing on July 29 at the request of the defense counsel, who said that Chief Counsel Salman Safdar is abroad. According to the news, a three -judge bench of the apex court headed by Pakistan Chief Justice (CJP) Yahya Afridi will hear the case on Tuesday, including Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb.

Khan (72) has several cases registered in Lahore in connection with the violence of May 9, including a case of allegedly abusing his supporters to attack government and military buildings.
