Stolen theft, secretly …, Rahul Gandhi’s taunt over vote theft, shared Video

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday shared a spoof video inspired by the film ‘Lapat Ladies’. In this video, he reiterated the allegations of Congress’s vote theft on the Election Commission and urged people to participate in the ‘Vote theft to Azadi’ campaign. While sharing the video on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “Theft, stealth-chupke … now or not, the public has woken up.”

In the video, a middle -aged man is seen lodging a complaint of theft at the police station. When a policeman asks, “Is it stolen?” So the person hesitates and replies, “Vote.” The policeman shocked and asks, “How is this possible?” The video ends with this message, “Theft of your vote is the theft of your right.” The clip is based on a scene of missing ladies, in which a husband goes to the police station to file a report that his wife has been swapped.

This came after the announcement of the Congress to launch the ‘Vote theft from Azadi’ campaign, which called people to join the movement against the alleged “vote theft” by the Election Commission and the BJP. Earlier, the Congress party had urged people in a post on X to change their display picture (DP) on social media to support this campaign. The post stated, “On the occasion of Independence Day, join the campaign of liberation from ‘Vote theft’. Change your WhatsApp DP.”
