Srinagar bound plane makes emergency landing in Varanasi

An Indigo Airlines flight from Kolkata to Srinagar had to make an emergency landing at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi after fuel leakage was reported on Wednesday evening.

According to police sources, Indigo Airlines flight number 6E-6961 going from Kolkata to Srinagar had to land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Wednesday evening due to fuel leak.

He said that due to fuel leakage in the plane, the pilot, seeing the seriousness of the situation, immediately contacted the Air Traffic Control (ATC) of Varanasi and asked for permission to land. After getting permission, the plane landed safely on the runway at 4.10 pm.

According to police sources, all the 166 passengers on board the plane are completely safe. The passengers have been taken to the arrival hall. The technical team is currently busy inspecting and repairing the aircraft. The situation is completely normal and under control.
