Budget airline SpiceJet passengers can now book taxis to and from the airport during their flight using the airline’s in-flight entertainment platform ‘SpiceScreen’. Spigate announced this on Thursday.

The airline said the first of its kind in the domestic aviation industry would help passengers avoid waiting for their transport once they arrive in the taxi transfer sector. Passengers will receive a taxi booking OTP message on their mobile phones via SMS, WhatsApp and automatic inbound call confirmation upon arrival at the airport after booking a taxi on the SPS screen. This will allow customers to make any payment option (online or in cash) at the end of the trip.
