Team India is going to tour South Africa next month. The Indian team has been waiting for this series for a long time as India has never won a Test series on African soil. However, with the advent of a new form of corona virus, Omicron, the threat has increased and the tour appears to be canceled.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said on Tuesday that the tour of South Africa would be on schedule for the time being and he was closely monitoring the situation regarding the emergence of new variants of Kovid-19. Concerns are growing about the spread of a new version of the Covid-19 called Omicron. The first case was reported in South Africa. “The tour will be as per the situation so far,” Ganguly said in a program. We still have time to decide. The first test will be on December 17. We will consider it.

India will play its second and final Test against New Zealand in Mumbai from December 3, after which the team is scheduled to depart for Johannesburg on December 8 or 9 on a chartered flight. “The health and safety of the players has always been the top priority of the BCCI,” said Ganguly. We will see what happens in the coming days.
If we talk about the record of Indian cricket team in South Africa then this team has not won any Test series there till date. When the team went to South Africa in 2018 under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, they came back with a great performance. The Indian team was close to winning the Test series, but lost the series 2-1. However, now Team India is even stronger. Virat’s army, which has hoisted its flag in Australia, England and around the world, will be looking to improve its record by beating the African team this time.
