Sourav Ganguly has returned to cricket administration. He is going to be the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal for the second time. Ganguly filed nomination for the post on Sunday and he is sure to be elected unopposed due to no other candidate against him. This will be his second innings. Prior to this, he has held this post from 2015 to 2019. When Ganguly was asked about the possibility of returning as a BCCI President, he clearly said that do not make any guess about this.
Let me tell you that the upcoming elections of Cricket Association of Bengal are going to be held on 22 September. Ganguly as well as other members of his panel will also be elected unopposed. The panel includes Nitish Ranjan Dutta for Vice President, Bablu Kole for Secretary, Madan Ghosh for Joint Secretary and Sanjay Das for Treasurer.
Let me tell you that Sourav Ganguly has replaced his elder brother Snehashish Ganguly this time. Who was in this post since 2019. He first served as the President of BCCI from Sourav Ganguly 2019 to 2022. After him, Roger Binny became the President of BCCI. Apart from this, his name is also being discussed for the upcoming BCCI’s upcoming elections. CAB has made Ganguly its representative for the BCCI’s AGM. Due to which he remains in the race of BCCI President.
