Smooth and safe roads being built through Bihar, six bypasses will be constructed in 2023-24

Patna. Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister cum Road Construction Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that Bihar is the leading state of the country in terms of infrastructure development. For good connectivity, good roads and good bridges are being constructed in the state. The roads are being made smooth and safe. Arrangements have also been made for its maintenance and their real time monitoring is being done. The Central Government has also praised the infrastructure of Bihar. The people of the central government have come to Bihar after learning the road maintenance policy. The PMCH section of the JP Ganga Path Project from Digha has been inaugurated. With the inauguration of the eastern lane of Mahatma Gandhi Setu, the traffic connectivity of North Bihar and South Bihar has been facilitated. He said that due to the negligence of the Center, the construction work of many National Highways in the state has been stuck, in which Hajipur-Chhapra and Patna-Gaya and Dobhi are prominent.

Bridge will be built on Mahanadi in Katihar with a cost of 200 crores

There is a plan to construct a bridge on the Mahanadi of Seemachanal with 200 crores. The Deputy Chief Minister said that a separate cell has been formed in the department and officers have been deployed to remove the problem of land acquisition.

272 km of roads will be widened and six bypasses will be constructed in 2023-24

The Deputy Chief Minister said that at present there is a total of 15637 km wide district road under the Road Construction Department, out of which 5531 km is single lane, which is to be upgraded to at least intermediate lane. In the year 2023-24, a scheme for widening and strengthening of 272 km of roads is proposed under NABARD. There is a plan to widen the remaining roads in a phased manner as per the state plan. At the same time, six bypasses will also be constructed in the next financial year. In which Bahedi in Darbhanga, Chandwa to Dhanupra in Bhojpur, city security dam in Khagaria, Gurua in Gaya, Bahadurganj in Kishanganj and Mashrak bypass are proposed in Saran.

Approval of total 41 schemes worth more than 1850 crores under process

The Deputy Chief Minister said that in the financial year 2022-23, the approval of a total of 41 schemes (25 road schemes and 16 bridge schemes) worth more than 1850 crores under NABARD loan is under process. For this, approval will be taken from the cabinet before March 31, 2023.
