Smart bus stop for passengers in Bengaluru, equipped with many features including sanitary napkins, charging points

A smart bus stop at the Airport Bus Terminal was inaugurated by the Electronic City Industrial Township Authority in Bengaluru. This is the first hi-tech bus stop of its kind in Bangalore. According to a Hindustan Times report, the bus stop has vending machines for snacks and sanitary napkins, charging points for phones and laptops, and many other facilities. There is also a smart dustbin in this bus stop.

This information was given by tweeting on behalf of Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA). Dr. MA Saleem, Managing Director of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and Special Commissioner of Traffic Police was also present as the chief guest in the inaugural program. On the occasion of the inauguration, the Managing Director of BMTC said that this is the beginning of a new era for the public transport of our e-city. Both the chief guests flagged off the public bus from the smart bus stop.

What is the specialty of the bus stop: The bus stop also has vending machines for snacks and sanitary napkins, charging points for phones and laptops, and many other facilities. Apart from this, smart bus stops have smart dustbins which send alert messages when they are 70 per cent full. Not only this, there is also a display which shows the route map as well as gives complete information about the timings of the bus. CCTV cameras have been installed at the bus stop: In view of the safety of the passengers, two CCTV cameras have been installed at the bus stop. It is also fitted with SOS system.
