Dr. Priyanka Rohatgi said that it has been proved through research that sitting on a chair for two hours is as harmful as a cigarette. It brings stiffness in the veins of the whole body due to which the chances of bone fractures increase manifold. Neck and back pain is visible to everyone but it has many fatal consequences. Even there will be a huge reduction in fitness and the capacity of the lungs will also become weak. Dr. Priyanka said that if you are continuously working in the same pose on the computer, then the nerve attached to your muscles gets stiffness. Due to the decrease in the movement of the nerve, the neck becomes stiff. People working in IT sector get tunnel syndrome. The nerves of the body start getting weak. Stiffness comes in the whole body. The risk of injury in all body parts increases. Means every organ will start to relax.

Increases fatty liver disease

Dr. Priyanka said that by sitting on a chair for two hours at a time, the energy present in our body is not used properly. This slows down the metabolism. Slow metabolism means that the nutritious elements have been obtained in the body but it has not been used. In this situation, excess energy starts accumulating in the liver. Dr. Priyanka told that liver is the factory of our body. Since many things that are being made in our body are not able to be used properly. Therefore, when all this starts accumulating in the liver, the work of fatty acid oxidation, protein breakdown, protein synthesis will not be done properly. Excess glucose or energy made from these increases fatty liver. That’s why non-alcoholic fatty liver disease occurs in people who don’t drink alcohol. With age, metabolism automatically weakens in the body. If there is a seating job in it, then it increases these things even more.

Decreased lung capacity and anxiety

When we are working on the computer, all our focus is on the system. In this condition, the lungs work very slowly. That is, the breathing capacity starts decreasing. Due to this, the ability of the lungs to work automatically starts decreasing. On average, people use half the capacity of their lungs. Dr. Priyanka told that when we do not use the capacity of an organ as much as it has, then gradually its capacity will automatically decrease. Due to this, the lungs also start getting weak. In the sitting job, more toxin accumulates in the body. Because it is not used, then it also starts accumulating in many parts of the body. Due to this, the imbalance of hormones starts and the amount of many types of stress hormones increases. The spile structure starts to become unbalanced. Even stiffness starts coming in disc, spine, neck etc. As a result of all this, anxiety starts increasing. Overall there is no feeling of feel good in the body.

Decreased effect of insulin increases the risk of diabetes manifold. After working continuously, the capacity of the brain starts decreasing.

how to avoid all these problems
Dr. Priyanka Rohatgi says that we should not work, it is not possible, but even while working, we can reduce the risk of all these dangerous diseases in some ways. He said that no matter what the sitting job is, you must get up from the chair once in an hour. If this is also not possible, then do stretching exercises on the chair itself. But at least in two hours, do get up from the chair for two-three minutes. Two-three minutes of exercise every hour will reduce the risk of many diseases. It is better if you do physical exercise even for half an hour in the morning every day. Morning exercise is most beneficial. Never sit on a chair continuously for one or two hours. Keep doing something or the other. Follow the rule of 80-20. Work in it for 20 minutes and move around for 2 minutes.

If every hour after getting up from the chair, get up for just two minutes and do stretching, then it will also prove to be very beneficial.
