The Special Investigation Team (SIT), who was investigating the allegations of collectively burning bodies at various places in the town of Karnataka, inspected the temple information center and the surrounding areas on Thursday. Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar termed the allegations of collectively burying the bodies in the Dharmasthal as the “conspiracy” to spoil the image of the area.
The SIT said that the officials along with the complainant who reached the Dharmasthal temple complex conducted Mahajar (inspection) near a public toilet and also inspected the place where the complainant had allegedly stopped working in the temple in the past years. This inspection took place under link police protection.
Officials said that the inspection conducted on Thursday was part of the regular check -up process and further forensic checks of identified places could be done on the basis of findings. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Shivkumar told reporters in Bengaluru, “There is a conspiracy to destroy the heritage of hundreds of years. It is not right to defame someone like this. All this is caused by a complainant.”
Shivkumar said that in the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party, some MLAs demanded action against those involved in the campaign to discredit the shrine. He said, “I have asked him (Congress MLAs) that action should be taken against the people involved in the campaign to tarnish the image. The Chief Minister has also said that action should be taken against such people.
