Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, arrested on the charge of attack on Saif Ali Khan, filed a bail petition in the Mumbai session court last week. Shariful, through his lawyer, claimed that he did not commit any crime and the case registered against him was false. The police arrested him from Thane on 19 January.

The actor was immediately admitted to the hospital and underwent spinal cord and plastic surgery at Lilavati Hospital. He was discharged from the hospital on 21 January.
