Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi reached Namibia. This tour was special in this sense as the Indian PM has gone to Namibia after 27 years. Many experts Namibia is called ‘Saudi Arabia of Africa’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Namibia President Netumbo Nandi-Nadaitwah reviewed the extensive aspects of the India-Namibia bilateral relations during the bilateral talks in Windhok, including cooperation in areas such as digital technology, defense, security, agriculture, healthcare, education and important minerals. Prime Minister Modi thanked the Namibian leader for expressing condolences and supporting the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. In addition, he also thanked the Namibia government for mourning the tragic aircraft accident in Ahmedabad last month. In a post on social media after the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said that cooperation in areas like digital technology, defense, security, agriculture, healthcare, education and important minerals was prominently included in our discussion. He said that we also discussed ways to deepen relations in the fields of trade, energy and petrochemicals.

Which agreements between India and Namibia
Thanked for the help of Namibia in the project cheetah. Following talks at the State House, both sides signed four agreements, including cooperation in the field of health and medicine, establishment of Entrepreneurship Development Center in Namibia, CDRI (alliance for disaster resistant infrastructure) framework and global biofuel coalition framework. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Namibia and the third visit of a Prime Minister from India. Modi, who arrived here from Brazil in the last phase of his visit to five countries, also paid tribute to Samibia founder Samibia founder Sam Nujoma.

Guard of Honor given to PM Modi
Nuzoma gave Namibia freedom in 1990 and had been its President for 15 years. Modi, who came here on the invitation of President Nandi-Nadaitwa, described Namibia as an important and reliable partner in Africa. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed at the State House and was awarded the Guard of Honor. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Namibia and the third visit of a Prime Minister from India. The Prime Minister was formally welcomed on arrival and practiced playing traditional Namibian Dhol.
