‘Siddaramaiah ji, please join us’, Gadkari wrote 2 letters to the CM of Karnataka before the inauguration

Prior to the inauguration of infrastructure projects at Shivamogga, Karnataka, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari wrote two letters to the Chief Minister, urging him to join personally or via video. Earlier, Siddaramaiah said that on July 14, Shivamogga National Highway Projects were not consulted before the inauguration and foundation stone ceremony, while his name was also included in it.

According to Gadkari’s office, these letters were sent on 11 and 12 July. He also posted them on the social media platform X, which highlighted the Center’s commitment to coordination with cooperative federalism and state governments. Gadkari posted that as a major step towards promoting regional contact, the inauguration and foundation stone ceremony of several major infrastructure projects is being held in Shivamogga, Karnataka today.

He further said that a formal invitation has been sent to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ji on 11 July 2025 to preside over the program. In view of any possible challenge related to the program, a letter was sent on 12 July, requesting his virtual appearance. In the first letter, Gadkari “informed” the Chief Minister about the project and “requested to preside over the program by appearing on the occasion.

In the second letter, it was also said that if the Chief Minister is unable to attend the program personally, we will be proud if you can join us through video conferencing. Gadkari on Monday inaugurated, founded and inaugurated the 88 km long national highway projects, which is more than ₹ 2000 crore investment. Siddaramaiah posted on X, “Due to prior commitments in Vijayapura, I have written a letter to Nitin Gadkari requested to resume the program.” In the letter, Siddaramaiah told Gadkari that it has come to his notice that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, along with the National Highways Authority of India, is organizing the ceremony on 14 July.
