A serious case came to light before the second unofficial Test to be played between India A and Australia A. Before the match, Australian fast bowler Henry Thornton had to be admitted to the Regency Hospital in Kanpur due to deteriorating health.
BCCI vice -president Rajiv Shukla has clarified on the incident of deteriorating health of Australian players that the hotel food was completely safe. He said that if there was any problem in eating, then Indian players would also fall ill. They believe that the players must have infected from elsewhere.

Rajiv Shukla said, “All the players are getting food from the same hotel. It is a iconic hotel in Kanpur and food is safe and good. Perhaps some players must have had an infection from outside.” He admitted that the options for staying international players in cities like Kanpur are limited, but the organizing committee is taking care.
