His spacecraft ‘Dragon’ connected to the space laboratory passing over the North Atlantic Ocean at 4:01 pm Indian time. This is a historic moment for India, as this is the first time an Indian astronaut has visited ISS.

A live video of the US space agency NASA shown the ‘Dragon’ spacecraft coming near the ISS, and the entire process of ‘Docking’ (joining) was completed by 4:15 pm. Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is an experienced fighter pilot of the Indian Air Force, who has now created history as an astronaut. Born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Shubhanshu is one of the four Indian astronauts who were selected for ISRO’s Gaganyaan Mission. Recently, he made a successful visit to the International Space Station (ISS) under the Axiom-4 Mission. His ‘Dragon’ spacecraft successfully connected to ISS on 26 June 2025. This is a historical moment because Shubhanshu has become the first Indian astronaut to reach ISS. He is also the second Indian to go in space after Rakesh Sharma, who achieved this feat in 1984.
