Raj Thackeray had said- there are political differences with Uddhav, controversies, quarrels, but all this is a very small thing ahead of Maharashtra.
Amid reports of MNS Chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray coming together in politics, Shiv Sena said on X- The time has come to unite for the interest of Mumbai and Maharashtra. Party workers are ready to protect Marathi Gaurav.
This has intensified the speculation of MNS and UBT. Earlier on April 19, Raj Thackeray said on political reconciliation with his cousin Uddhav that, ‘Uddhav has political differences, controversies, quarrels, but all this is a very small thing ahead of Maharashtra.
It is not very difficult to come together for the benefit of Maharashtra and Marathi people. Raj Thackeray said these things on actor and director Mahesh Manjrekar’s YouTube channel.
On this, Uddhav Thackeray said that he is ready to leave small battles and move forward, provided those who work against the interests of Maharashtra are not tolerated.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that if Raj and Uddhav come together, we will be happy. It is a good thing to eradicate differences.

BJP leader- Uddhav’s wife’s hand behind taking out Raj
Regarding the alliance between Shiv Sena and MNS, BJP state president and Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “It is his privilege to come together or form an alliance.” On the other hand, BJP leader Nitesh Rane questioned Uddhav, the chief of Shiv Sena UBT, whether he had taken permission from wife Rashmi Thackeray for the alliance.
Nitesh Rane said in a podcast that the wife’s opinion matters more in such cases. Rane said that Uddhav’s wife Rashmi Thackeray had a hand behind taking Raj Thackeray out of the Shiv Sena. At that time there was no difference between the two cousins.
MNS-UBT alliance impacts Maharashtra’s politics
Raj Thackeray’s party’s account was not even opened in the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections. Uddhav Thackeray’s party also was reduced to just 20 seats in the 288 seats. If these parties come together, then it can see its direct effect in Maharashtra.
- Marathi vote bank can come together- The issue of Marathi Asmita has weakened for the last decade, as the Shiv Sena has been divided and MNS has been limited. With both of them, the politics of ‘Marathi Manush’ can get a united platform. This will affect urban areas like Mumbai, Thane, Pune.
- Shinde faction can be weak- Shinde faction has benefited from ‘real Shiv Sena’ in 2024 elections. If Raj and Uddhav come together, people can join the name Thackeray on emotional grounds.
- BJP can increase the difficulties- The occupation of Mumbai’s largest municipality has been the issue of Shiv Sena’s reputation. In 2017, Shiv Sena fought alone and was the top party, MNS was weak. If both come together, they can create difficulties for BJP.

NCP MP Sule said- If Balasaheb was alive, he would have been very happy।
- Congress chief Harshvardhan Sapkal said, ‘When Raj Thackeray says that his issues with Uddhav Thackeray are not bigger than Maharashtra, their indication is that the BJP is harming Maharashtra. The BJP is trying to weaken the language and culture of Maharashtra. Raj Thackeray’s attitude supports this.
- Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam of Shinde faction said, ‘Two zero always make a zero. Uddhav formed an alliance with the Congress for a Muslim vote and trusted Muslim votes. When this strategy has not worked, they are bending towards Raj Thackeray. This is not for the benefit of Maharashtra but about his own existence. But they cannot challenge Mahayuti together.
- NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule said, ‘Raj Thackeray said that the state issues are bigger than their personal dispute. This is a happy news for me. If Balasaheb were alive, he would have been very happy. If the two brothers are coming together for Maharashtra, then we should welcome it wholeheartedly.
In the interview, Raj Thackeray spoke to Shinde, BJP and Shiv Sena …
1. This is not a case of personal selfishness
Raj Thackeray said, “I don’t think it is a very difficult thing to come together and live together. The question is only of will.
2. He said on the question of Shinde- I will not work under anyone else
On Eknath Shinde’s coming to power and objection, Raj said, “Firstly, Shinde’s departure or the breakdown of MLAs became a separate part of politics. When I left the Shiv Sena, many MLAs and MPs came to me, but I had the same thing in my mind that if I leave Balasaheb, I would not work under anyone else. This was the situation at that time.”
3. On going with BJP, he said- what happens in politics, cannot say
When Mahesh Manjrekar questioned the BJP going with the BJP, Raj Thackeray said, “Whatever I can say or do for the Marathi people or for the Marathi people, I will do it. I will be political to come with the BJP, but my thinking does not match their thinking. Although what happens in politics, nothing can be said in politics.

Both brothers split in 2005-
Uddhav’s grip on the party was strengthened by winning the 2002 BMC election. Shiv Sainiks also started to understand that in the coming time, Uddhav Thackeray would become the head of Shivesna. On 30 January 2003, Shiv Sena session was held in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. It proposed to make Uddhav Thackeray the president. This proposal was presented from Raj Thackeray itself.
Raj Thackeray’s displeasure with his uncle started to grow as soon as Uddhav became the executive president. On 27 November 2005, Raj resigned from the party after Uddhav was declared a successor in the Shiv Sena. After this, Raj formed his party ‘Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena’. Since then, the relationship between the two has not been good.
On 9 March 2006, Raj Thackeray launched the new party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and the avenues of the two separated. On 17 November 2012, Balasaheb Thackeray died and the link connecting Raj-Udhav together was also broken.
