Shame should be shy … Supriya Sule, who was caught by giving a statement on reservation, cleaned the constitution after seeing the controversy growing

The ongoing debate on caste census and reservation is giving rise to protests and discussions throughout India. Speaking on this issue, NCP MP Supriya Sule has insisted that reservation should be given not only on caste or community, but to real economic needy. After this statement by Supriya Sule, opposition parties started criticizing her. Now seeing the controversy growing, Sule has given clarification about his statement on reservation. Talking to a private media, he said that I am very clear that we should follow the constitution written by Babasaheb Ambedkar. He suggested that these countries follow the constitution. Along with this, Sule has demanded the government to provide security to Rajapurkar, the state president of the party’s OBC Cell.

Let us tell you that in the past, speaking at a youth program of NDTV, Sule said that reservation should not be given to every caste or community. It should be found to the child or family that really needs it. He said that his own family does not need the benefit of reservation because his parents were educated and their children study in good schools. He further said that if I say that I am only entitled to reservation because I am from a caste, then I should be ashamed. A child with limited resources but extraordinary talent in a remote village needs more reservation than my child studying in top schools in Mumbai.

Calling reforms in the reservation system, Sule said that it should be focused on economic weakness rather than caste identity, so that in fact qualified children and families can get equal opportunities. Sule’s remarks have come a few days after activist Manoj Jarange held a large scale protests across Maharashtra to demand reservation in jobs and education for the Marathas and education for the Marathas in Marathwada and Western Maharashtra region. After the Maharashtra government accepted most of his demands, including providing the Kunbi caste certificate to the eligible Marathas, he withdrew its movement earlier this month, making them eligible for the reservation benefits given to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
