Shaheed Sahajpal Singh merged into five elements, cremated with military honours

Army jawan Sahajpal Singh, who died while on duty in Assam, was inducted into five elements on Monday. In Patiala, the mother embraced her martyred son and father Amarjit Singh offered fire to the pyre of the martyred son. Sahajpal was cremated with military honours. People gathered to pay tribute to the young man.

Before this, late in the evening of May 28, the dead body of Sehajpal Singh was brought to Patiala cantonment. Then at 10 am the dead body of Sahajapal Singh was taken to his home in his native village Randhawa. The parents hugged their martyred son while crying. All the people of the village also bid farewell to Sahajpal Singh with moist eyes. After the last darshan, Shaheed Sahajapal Singh was cremated with military honors at the local crematorium.

Sahajpal Singh joined the army in 2015. His younger brother Amritpal Singh (21) is also serving in the Indian Army and is currently posted in Ladakh. On the other hand, Shaheed Sahajpal’s father Amarjit Singh and mother Paramjit Kaur are in dire straits. Cabinet Minister Joramajra has assured all possible help to the family of the martyred jawan.

Local MLA and Punjab Cabinet Minister Chetan Singh Jaudamajra shared his grief with the family of Shaheed Sahajpal on the late evening of May 27. He said that he was martyred in Assam while protecting the country. Entire Punjab and the country is saluting the martyr. CM Bhagwant Mann also paid obeisance to Sahajapal Singh, Mother of India and Son of Punjab.
