There is a deep resentment in the Sikh community over the incidents of disrespect of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at various places in India. Today, members of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Hospitality Committee on this, a demand letter to the Secretary of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC).

Senior leader of the hospitality Committee Balbir Singh Muchhal alleged that when the form of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji becomes a little older, SGPC is presented a fire by SGPC in Shri Goindwal Sahib and Delhi Gurdwara Committee at Angitha Sahib located in Dehradun.
He said that if only two organs (pages) of a form are bad, it is completely wrong to offer fire to the entire form. Instead, such forms should be repaired and published again.
Interest on institutional level also
Balbir Singh Muchhal further said that while the external elements are abusing Guru Granth Sahib Ji, some religious institutions are also indirectly involved in this crime.
Giving examples, he said that many times the holy lines of Gurbani are written behind weddings cards, tractor-trolleys and vehicles, which is also a kind of disgrace and should be stopped immediately.
Action warning on sgpc
The hospitality committee clarified that if SGPC and other concerned institutions failed to curb the cases of disrespect of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, then permanent demonstrations will be done outside the SGPC headquarters in the coming time, which will run until their demands are met.
