Sensex surges 366 points

The stock market has started the first trading day of the week with a rise again. The 30-share BSE benchmark index opened 366 points higher at 55695.84 on Monday.

At the same time, the Nifty on the National Stock Exchange opened at 16,592.25. Sensex in early trade The Nifty was up 411 points at 55,741, while the Nifty was up 116 points at 16,5666. The Sensex was down 107.97 points, or 0.19 per cent.

Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Hindalco, Tata Motors and HCL Tech were among the major gainers in the Nifty in early trade, while Tata Consumer, Hindustan Unilever, Adani Ports, Bajaj Auto and Hero Motors were among the major losers.
