While enjoying the water structure at the sea of Puri, Odisha, the speedboat of former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly and his wife Arpita overturned, but both narrowly survived. The police gave this information on Monday. The incident occurred near Lighthouse on Saturday evening when the couple was riding in the speedboat.
In a video message available with PTI-language, Arpita said that, we survived by the grace of God. I am still in shock. This should not happen and water sports in the sea should be arranged properly. After returning to Kolkata, I will write a letter to Puri Superintendent of Police and Odisha CM. Recalling the incident, he said that the boat collided with a wave as high as a ten floor, due to which the boat overturned and all the passengers, including her husband Snehashish, fell into the sea. He said that, thankfully, our life was saved by the lifeguard taking immediate action.
Local police said that the lifeguards stationed on the beach reached the spot and rescued tourists in the boat. He used the tube to ensure the facility of the perters. Arpita, who is clearly shocked, alleged that the accident occurred due to the greed of adventure sports operators. He alleged that there were only four passengers on the boat for 10 passengers, due to which the boat became unstable and could not face the waves.
