Sco Summit in Tianjin | SCO’s Mahamch in China! PM Modi told India’s stance on global challenges, priority to Global South!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the SCO Summit site at Tianjin, where global leaders have gathered for this high-profile program. Apart from this summit, Prime Minister Modi was seen openly interacting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. During the meeting of the two leaders on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Tianjin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his warmth to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Prime Minister Modi posted on X, “It is always happy to meet President Putin!”. Prior to the SCO summit, Prime Minister Modi was also seen shaking hands with Putin and hugging.

The summit of the heads of the ten -member Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) began on Monday in Tianjin, China. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other leaders of the organization started discussions at the one-day summit to decide the future direction of this group. Chinese President Xi Chinfing welcomed the leaders. The 25th summit began on the formal on Sunday night with a grand banquet organized by Xi Chinfing. It also included Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders.

This year’s summit is said to be the largest summit of the SCO group, as this year SCO President China has invited 20 foreign leaders and heads of 10 international organizations, including UN Secretary -General Antonio Gutaras, to attend the ‘SCO Plus’ summit. On Monday, various leaders will address the meeting and present their future approach to the organization.

Prime Minister Modi’s speech will be eagerly monitored in the backdrop of Modi’s meeting with She Chinfing and the backdrop of US President Donald Trump imposing new fees on various countries. It is believed that this meeting will prepare a new blueprint for relations. In his address at the reception banquet, Xi said that the SCO has a major responsibility to protect regional peace and stability and promote the development of various countries in the world of increasing uncertainties and rapid changes.

Xi expressed confidence that the summit of all parties will be fully successful and the SCO will definitely play a bigger role, contribute more to promoting unity and cooperation between member countries, united the strength of ‘Global South’ and promotes more progress of human civilization.

The reference to ‘Global South’ is given to a group of economically weak countries. The SCO was established in June 2001 in Shanghai and had six founding members. Now 26 countries are part of it, including 10 members, two supervisors and 14 dialogue partners, which are spread in Asia, Europe and Africa. Along with major emerging markets and members of developing countries like China, Russia and India, the SCO represents almost half of the world’s population and one-fourth of the global economy.
