SCO Declaration is a huge shock for Pakistan with Pahalgam Terror Attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for his return home after completing his successful participation in the SCO Summit 2025. If seen, the Prime Minister’s visit to China after seven years has left many global impacts. During this time, where there was a new warmth in the relations between India and China, Prime Minister Modi fiercely put Beij’s friend Pakistan in front of China. It was a major success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that during the SCO summit, a shared manifesto against terrorism reflected India’s stance deeply. Let us tell you that SCO member countries strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack. The manifesto stated that it is mandatory to punish the organizers, sponsors and colleagues of such incidents. All member nations also reiterated that the use of terrorism, separatism and extremism is unacceptable for any selfish political or mercenary purposes.
The announcement clarified that dual standards against terrorism are not acceptable at any cost. It also stressed that the international community would have to take serious steps to prevent the movement of terrorists from across the border. Earlier, in his address on the SCO platform, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has been facing terrorism for the last four decades. Referring to the Pahalgam attack, he said that it was one of the most gruesome forms of terrorism. He thanked the friendly countries who supported India in this hour of grief.

If seen, this joint stance of SCO on terrorism strengthens India’s year-old demand that terrorism cannot be divided into the categories of ‘good-bad’ or ‘strategic-cooperative’. In addition, “cross -border terrorism” and “double standard” are a direct message to Pakistan, even though it was not named. At the same time, China, which many times became a shield on international forums on Pakistan’s terrorism, now joined the collective tone of SCO. This is important for India-China equations. Let us tell you that SCO member countries represent almost half the world’s population. From such a platform, a strict voice against terrorism can be called India’s diplomatic victory. If seen, Modi showed in the SCO conference that India is not only suffering from terrorism but also a global leadership voice against terrorism.
There is no doubt that the SCO summit held in Tianjin was not only an opportunity for multilateral diplomacy for India, but also proved to be a strategic platform to achieve global solidarity on the issue of terrorism. It is clear from the declaration of condemnation of the Pahalgam attack and rejecting double parameters that now the international community will have to take a clear, uniform and concrete stance against terrorism.
