In view of the increasing military tension between India and Pakistan, instructions have been issued to close school in 6 states of India. These states include Jammu, Punjab and Rajasthan adjacent to the Pakistan border. On the night of 7 and 8 May, Pakistan tried to attack a missile attack in these states. Due to this, schools have been closed in view of security.

Delhi schools went online
Many private schools in the country’s capital Delhi have decided to shift their studies in online mode, taking precautionary measures. These schools include Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj, Indraprasth World School West Vihar and Queen Mary School Model Town.
In Jammu and Kashmir too, schools have decided to shift to the study online mode to protect children from academic loss. All the schools in Jammu will run online till further orders.
ICAI postponed examinations
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the Chartered Accountant Final, Intermediate and Post Qualification Course (PQC) exam to be held in May. Along with this, the date of the International Test (INTT AT) has also been changed.

Fake notice to postpone UGC examinations viral
The University Grant Commission i.e. UGC issued a notice on 7 May 2025, denouncing a fake notice. In this fake notice, it was claimed that all universities across India have been canceled due to ‘war -like status’.
By releasing an official social media post, the UGC made it clear that the notice is completely baseless and has warned students and institutes not to come under the guise of such misinformation.

The Commission said, ‘This is a fake notice. UGC has not issued any such order. All exams will be held on fixed date and time.
