Congress had won from this seat in the years 1962 and 1967. After this, Praja Socialist Party won twice. BJP has hoisted the flag of victory from this seat maximum 5 times. RJD got success for the first time in the year 2000. Then in the elections of 2015 and 2020 also the RJD candidate had won. Janata Dal was also successful in getting MLA from this seat twice. However, JDU has not won this seat yet.
