The film is facing strong criticism from fans and cinema organizations. Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) President BN Tiwari, after the producers did not release in India, told India Today exclusively that they are planning to issue official instructions to ban Diljit Dosanjh and the film’s makers in India.

The film is the third part of the Punjabi horror-comedy franchise Sardar ji, directed by Amar Hundal. The film has been composed by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manomord Sidhu’s White Hill Studios and Story Time Productions. Diljit shared the trailer of the film on his Instagram handle on Sunday night. The actor said that the film, which was going to be released worldwide earlier, will now be released abroad only on June 27.
It is written in the caption, Sardar G3 is releasing only abroad on June 27. After this, many social media users expressed displeasure over the selection of Pakistani artist in the film. One user wrote – “Bycott,” then the other commented – “Diljit Dosanjh is a traitor.” The dispute took place after the Pahalgam terror attack in April, in which 26 common citizens were killed.

After the terrorist attack, social media accounts of Pakistani artists including Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have been banned in India. Fawad Khan and Vani Kapoor’s film ‘Abir Gulal’ was also not allowed to be released in India. The film was scheduled to release in May.
