Sansad Diary: A sharp debate in Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor, attack in government and opposition

The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned thrice and Rajya Sabha twice due to the frequent uproar by opposition members to demand a discussion on the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. However, discussion on Operation Sindoor started in Lok Sabha from 2 pm. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in the Lok Sabha that Operation Sindoor was not only military action, but a decisive disclosure of our policy against terrorism. Singh said Operation Sindoor as an unmatched example of the coordination of the three armies, saying that it is “wrong and baseless” that this campaign was stopped under some pressure. At the same time, he warned Pakistan in clear terms that if some of its ‘misunderstandings’ is left, it will also be removed.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in the Lok Sabha that it was necessary to give a clear message to Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack. He said that Pakistan had saved TRF, we failed his attempt. He clearly stated that it is our right to protect citizens. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said in the Lok Sabha that Operation Sindoor was opposed by only three nations besides Pakistan. It was the result of our diplomacy that ‘TRF’ was declared a global terrorist organization. He said that there was no mention of trade in a conversation with the US during Operation Sindoor, there was no direct communication between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump between April 22 and June 17. Jayashankar, while targeting the Congress, said: Those who did nothing, are daring to question the government that demolish the terrorist sites in Bahawalpur and MuridK.
Congress Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi said on Monday that the government should explain why ‘Operation Sindoor’ was stopped and why the terrorists who killed 26 innocent citizens in Pahalgam are still out of grip. The Congress leader also said that the moral responsibility of the security lapse in the Pahalgam terror attack should be taken to Home Minister Amit Shah. Referring to the statements of some military officers, he said that it should be informed how many aircrafts fell in military conflict with Pakistan because this information is not only necessary for the public, but also for the soldiers.
Ramashankar Rajbhar of Samajwadi Party (SP) said that if the claim of US President Donald Trump to hold a ceasefire between India and Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, it means that “we lost freedom to take military and diplomatic decisions”. SP’s Ramashankar Rajbhar, while participating in a special discussion on India’s strong, successful and decisive “Operation Sindoor” in response to the “Pahalgam ‘in the lower house of Parliament, he said that the Pahalgam terror attack took place on 22 April and was started 17 days later, while Operation Sindoor was started, while the country wanted action on the third day of the attack.
Shiv Sena (Ubatha) leader Arvind Sawant on Monday urged the central government in the Lok Sabha that there should not be a cricket match with Pakistan that spread terrorism against India. Sawant raised this demand while participating in a special discussion on Operation Sindoor in the House when the match between the Indian and the Pakistani cricket team is proposed on 14 September in the Asia Cup. According to the Asia Cup program, arch-rivals India and Pakistan are placed in Group ‘A’ and they will be face to face at the Dubai International Stadium on 14 September.

The government said in the Rajya Sabha on Monday that promising reserves of rare soil elements have been found in Singrauli coal mines in Madhya Pradesh. Rare soil elements (REE) are a group of metallic elements such as scandium and yitrium, which are used in various modern techniques including clean energy, electronics, electric vehicles. Coal and Mines Minister Kishan Reddy gave this information to the Rajya Sabha in response to a question.
