Salman Khan’s films are made a different o’clock whenever it is released on Eid. This time there is a lot of noise about his film ‘Sikander’.
After the teaser of the film, positive reactions were received from fans and experts. But when the trailer came, the fans were disappointed.
There were expectations about the trailer of the film, but this trailer is not a northern on expectations. There was a lack of action and dialogues. Many people said that the action of the film is similar to Salman’s previous films ‘Tiger’ and ‘Kick’, which introduces nothing new. Apart from this, there was no powerful punch line and special twist in the trailer, due to which the success of the film began to be questioned.

The trailer disappointed the fans, but the industry experts hope that the film may be successful. The film was given the director of ‘Ghajini’ A.R. Murugadas has directed and its producer is Sajid Nadiadwala. Along with Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandana will also be seen in the film, which can make the film special. Due to all these reasons, the success of the film is being expected.
From ‘Wanted’ to ‘Somebody’s life’, how did Salman’s Eid release bring his career to new heights? And will ‘Alexander’ prove to be another blockbuster in this connection? Come, let’s know the full story of this journey.

Salman before and after ‘Wanted’: New birth of a superstar
Salman Khan’s films were not doing anything special at the box office in the early 2000s. Films like ‘God Tussi Great Ho’, ‘Yuvraj’ and ‘Heroes’, released in 2008, flopped. Salman was in dire need of a big hit and then ‘Wanted’ (2009) which changed the direction of his career. Directed by Prabhudheva, the film grossed ₹ 93 crores and established Salman as an action star.
Salman’s career completely changed after ‘Wanted’. He made Eid ‘Lucky Charm’ for himself and started releasing a big film on this occasion every year.
Salman’s Eid release: Hit at box office or Miss?
Salman Khan has released films on Eid continuously since 2009. Some were blockbusters, some did not live up to expectations. Take a look at his Eid box office records here:

Hit or Flop: Many aspects of the success of the film
By the way, the hit or flop of films is not decided just with budget and collection. ‘Somebody’s life is someone’s life’ (Budget: ₹ 132 Crore, Collection: ₹ 182 Crore) was considered average because Theatrical return was not as expected.
‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ received most of the negative reviews and was considered a flop. The film received criticism due to the weakening of the story, screenplay and direction. However, it became the most watched film on the day of its release on OTT.
The film ‘Tubelight’ was average at the box office. It earned ₹ 211.14 crore against the budget of ₹ 135 crore and received most of the negative reviews.
To call a film a hit, his collection should usually be at least 2 times the budget, so that the distributor and the producer get good profits.

‘Dainik Bhaskar’ interacted with senior movie trade analyst Girish Wankhede, where he shared his opinion on Salman Khan’s Eid release and ‘Sikander’ possibilities.
Salman and Eid: A Perfect Combination- Movie Trade Analyst Girish Wankhede
Salman Khan and Eid have now become complementary to each other. When his name comes, fans expect Eid release. This time too, there is a huge ocean with ‘Alexander’. The teaser and songs of the film are in the right direction and it will benefit from the release of Eid.

How will the effect be at the box office?
There will be a huge crowd in theaters on the first day. I believe that ‘Alexander’ can take an opening of 35-40 crores on the first day. Salman Khan’s weakest film also does not earn less than 150 crores. Even if ‘Alexander’ goes well, this film can cross 300 crores.
Murugadas’s direction and big opening chance
‘Sikander’ has all the same traditional elements that make Salman’s films a hit. However, director A.K. R. Murugadas can bring his special style in this film. His track record is excellent. He has made a superhit film like ‘Ghajini’, so ‘Alexander’ can also be tremendous.

Will you get the benefit of correct timing?
No major films have been reported in 2025 so far. ‘Pushpa 2’ came in January, ‘Chhava’ in February. Now the march is ending and the audience is looking for a big entertainment. There is a different craze to watch Salman’s films on Eid.
I hope that ‘Alexander’ can finish Salman Khan’s flop films. The film’s content and release timing are both in its favor.

Great response of advance booking is getting- Manoj Desai, Gaity Galaxy and Maratha Temple The owners
Gaity Manoj Desai, owner of Galaxy and Maratha Temple Theater, is quite excited about ‘Sikander’. He told that this time advance booking is going great and people are getting tremendous craze.
Manoj Desai said, ‘There is a tremendous craze about this film. I have booked both Gaiety and Galaxy theaters, whose capacity is 1000-1000 seats. At the same time, the Maratha temple has 1160 seats.
There is a great response for advance booking in all three theaters and so far 90% seats have already been filled. People are participating and booking tickets, which is clear that this film is going to give a strong opening.
Anyway, if there is a holiday on the 30th and 31st, it will also benefit. Seeing the kind of atmosphere, it seems that every show is going to go to the houseful. From the passion and excitement that is seen in the audience, I sincerely hope that this film will perform well in theaters.

What a R. Will Murugadas prove to be ‘Lucky Charm’ for Salman?
A. R. Murugadas is mainly considered to be the big director of Tamil cinema. He has given hits like ‘Ghajini’, ‘Thuppaki’, ‘Kathahi’ and ‘Sarkar’. He made his debut in Hindi cinema with ‘Ghajini’ (2008), in which Aamir Khan was in the lead role. The film was a tremendous hit.
He then formed ‘Holiday: A Soldier is Never of Duty’ (2014), which was another big hit, Akshay Kumar starrer. However, her third Hindi film ‘Akira’ (2016), which was Sonakshi Sinha, flopped at the box office.
Now Murugadas is bringing the upcoming film ‘Sikander’ with Salman Khan, which is going to be released on Eid 2025.

Salman-Sajid pair: Hit guaranteed for ‘Alexander’?
Sajid Nadiadwala has given a blockbuster like ‘Kick’ (2014) with Salman and is a producer of ‘Alexander’. The interesting thing is that whenever Sajid and Salman have come together, there is a blast at the box office.

Rashmika Mandana: Will the process of back-to-back hits continue?
Rashmika Mandana’s recent all three films have been super hit. His most popular film was ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ (2021), which created a panic at the box office. After this, ‘Animal’ and ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ also collected a tremendous collection.
The ‘Chhava’ released last month also performed well and his fans hope that ‘Alexander’ will also prove to be a hit.

‘Alexander’, made in a budget of about ₹ 200 crores, is a high-octane action thriller film which is A. R. Murugados is directing and Sajid Nadiadwala is produced. It will feature Rashmika Mandana, Kajal Aggarwal, Satyaraj, Sharman Joshi and Prateek Babbar along with Salman Khan.
The official announcement of the film was made on 10 April 2024 and its shooting started from Mumbai in June 2024 and completed in March 2025. Its music is composed by Pritam, while the background score is of Santosh Narayanan.
The film will be released worldwide on 30 March 2025.
